Question 1: What is Critical Thinking ? Describing why you need to be a critical thinker. Explain why it is important for ICT professionals to be critical thinkers. Answer 1: Critical thinking is a process through which the thinkers adopt clear thinking process, which is also reasoned. This helps in analysing the challenges that are involved in the process of making judgement, which is required for finding the facts related to the problem. Through this process, it is possible to implement new ideas and reason the same for improving the performance. Critical thinking is a method, through which the individual can adopt an intellectual method for solving the issue or handling the problem. In this method, the facts are analysed skilfully and actively. Both the methods are required for conducting the research and finding the relevant facts about certain aspects. In this process the thinker usually adopts and implements an effective strategy for finding the answers to particular question or questions. The relevant information are collected and analysed by the thinkers. At the time of fact findings the thinker usually adopts an analysing process through which th e issue is evaluated. Based on the facts collected by the critical thinkers can observe the process and apply to it effective reasoning method for analysing the facts. The collected facts are then communicated with the other members of the team or group. This is quite an important step, as this will assist the thinker to apply an effective action to solve the problem. Such factors are conducted for creating the right type of judgement, which will help in analysing the problem and solving the same. Critical thinker always adopts the best method through which the intellectual capacity of the individual can be increased (Ennis, 2002). In this process, the ITC thinker usually follows the below mentioned steps to solve the issue- 1. Identify the problem and find the alternative method to solve the issue. 2. Priories the issue based on the severity of the issue. This will help in solving the problem that is faced by the thinker. 3.Gather the essential information through which the problem can be easily sorted. 4. Make use of simple and effective language through which the problem can be sorted out in the right manner. In this process the accuracy of the language, clarity, and other factors are taken into consideration (Facione, 2011). Skills required for solving the issue- 1. Make use of the evidences to find the facts. 2. Make use of the skills to differentiate the problem (Lach, 2012). 3. Adopt and implement the right steps through which the techniques for solving the problem can be implemented. 4. Analyse the criterias for making the right judgement. Question 2: DescribingSWOT analysis. Identify two areas of improvement for your presentation skills and outline some strategies you could use to enhance those areas. Answer 2: SWOT analysis is conducted to find the below mentioned factors 1. Strengths - The positive aspects to solve the problem is considered to the strength that would help the individual. It also includes analysing the problem and selecting the best methods to solve the issue. In this process, the challenges have to be analysed and the corrective steps can be taken for implementing the changes. 2. Weakness The inability to perform the task or failure to analyse the seriousness of the problem is considered to be the biggest weakness. In this case, the problem has to be analysed and the correct measures needs to be taken for implementing the changes. Weakness is associated with the failure to analyse the problem and taking the right decision through which the problem can be sorted. 3. Opportunities - Through this method, an attempt is made to make the best use of the strengths to overpower the challenges. This would enable the individual to make the best use of the opportunities, and move ahead of the issues. 4. Threats This is basically related to the opportunities that would benefit the opponents or others who are associated with the individual. It is necessary to analyse the threats as this will help in making the right decision that would help the individual to overpower the issues. Strategies to overpower the weakness 1. Plan The best way to overpower the challenges is through planning the strategies that would enable the individual to perform the task in the best possible manner. At the time of planning it is necessary to consider the time and efforts that would be required for conducting the task. Planning has to be done after analysing the weakness as this will help the individuals to perform the task in the best possible manner. Planning also includes analysing the time that would be required for performing the task. This will help in accomplishing the work on a timely manner. 2. Analysing the weakness The factors that causes weakness has to be analysed in the corrective manner. In this process, the reason that impacts the performance of the task has been analysed. This will help in solving the issue and find the right method through which the issue can be sorted out in the best possible manner. In this method, the challenges have to be closely evaluated, as this will help in finding the best possible solution to overcome the issue. Question 3: Write reflectively about your experience with the use of a Social networking technology such as Facebook or Twitter. Answer 3: The benefits offered by the social networking technology cannot be overlooked at all. This is because the method allows different individuals to communicate with each other for professional and personal reasons. Through different social networking site, it is possible for the individuals to apply for the job of their choice. This is one of the most important factors, as the individuals can check the details of the work and apply for the same through online method. This wasnt the case earlier, as the individuals had to depend upon various external sources. Twitters, LinkedIn, and other social networking sites have helped many individuals to get the job of their choice. In this case, the challenges that was associated with finding the job. The profile can be uploaded on the official website of the company after a nalysing the requirements of the organization. This will enable the individual to find the job soon, without wasting much time on the same. In the similar manner, the results and other factors can be easily checked by the individual. Individuals can directly get connected with the company and check for the job requirements. 4. Apply for the job through online method. This will make the process quite fast and will simplify the complex steps that are involved in the system. 5.There is no need to seek help from intermediaries, as this is usually considered to be time consuming and expensive. Negative 1. There are too many applicants 2. Individual needs to be updated with the changes that are implemented by the company. Learning factor Social networking sites offers lots of advantage, and thus the users need to be aware of the process through which the system can be used in the right manner. Apart from this, it is also possible to gather the required information through which the application can be applied in an effective manner. Issue handling In future, the individual can directly enrol with the respective sites that offer impressive jobs. This will simplify the task of going through different websites. Positive aspects 1. Question 4: Create a document called Personal Ethical Framework in MS Word and write on how to build a reputation as a good ICT professional and how to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Answer 4: Ethical principles are the set of codes that is expected to be followed by the individuals at the workplace. The rules are defined and it is communicated with the members. This has been done to ensure that individuals follow the right set of policies for performing the tasks at the workplace. The guidelines are formulated and it is validated in the right manner. Principles are analysed, and the changes are made as per the requirements of the company. This is done to ensure that the right steps are followed by the individuals at the workplace. The problem associated with the ethical problem can be quite complex, and thus it needs to be understood in the best possible manner. While doing so, the objective of the company for implementing the code of conduct and the process that would be followed in this method has to be analysed. This has been done with an intention of solving the issue and guiding the individual to perform well at the workplace. Perception of good profession The concept includes analysing the challenges that are involved at the time of executing the work. In this process, the values related to the ethical practices needs to be analysed and the same needs to be communicated with the members. It is quite important to understand the rules, as this will help in carrying out the task in the best possible manner. Work ethics also includes not disclosing the official information with third parties. The stated rules have to be followed by the staffs in the stated manner. Values Ethical practices state that the value at the workplace needs to be followed in the right manner. The value includes respecting the individuals at the workplace. Communication The values and the ethical practise have to be communicated with the members or team in an effective, simple, and clear manner. This will convert the message. Diversity People are always sensitive towards the culture that has been followed by them.
